Streamflow Analysis in Data-Scarce Kabompo River Basin, Southern Africa, for the Potential of Small Hydropower Projects under Changing Climate

چکیده
In developing countries with data scarcity challenges, an integrated approach is required to enhance the estimation of streamflow variability for design water supply systems, hydropower generation, environmental flows, allocation and pollution studies. The Flow Duration Curve (FDC) was adopted as a tool that influenced by topography, land use cover, discharge climate change. from Global Climate Model (GCM) projections, based on Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) 4.5 RCP 8.5 scenarios, were used input SWAT model simulation streamflow. FDCs then derived simulated FDC showed insignificant differences, whilst it increase 5–10% in baseline period, which likely generation potential some considerable variability. utilizing FDC, GIS flow could be useful scarce regions.

Analysis of Streamflow Changes under Climate Change Using Rainfall-Runoff Model in the Kor River Basin
Abstract In this study, the predicted monthly temperature and rainfall data from HadCM3 model (base period, ۱۹۷۲-۲۰۰۱) and next period (۲۰۱۱-۲۰۴۰) under A2emission scenario were used to investigate the impacts of climate change on runoff variations in the Kor river basin. HadCM3 model output was downscaled based on a temporal downscaling approach (Change Factor) and spatial downscaling appro...
متن کاملInvestigation of climate change impacts on streamflow regime of a river Arazkooseh River Basin
In this research, impacts of climate change on the streamflow hydrological status of the Arazkooseh River are discussed. After Calibration and validation of the LARS-WG, HadCM3 was downscaled under A2 Scenario in three climatology station. Beside, calibration and validation of the SWAT model were done by observed data relative to past period of times. Streamflow values are then predicted using ...
متن کاملModeled intermittency risk for small streams in the Upper Colorado River Basin under climate change
Longer, drier summers projected for arid and semi-arid regions of western North America under climate change are likely to have enormous consequences for water resources and river-dependent ecosystems. Many climate change scenarios for this region involve decreases in mean annual streamflow, latesummer precipitation and late-summer streamflow in the coming decades. Intermittent streams are alre...
متن کاملExtreme precipitation and extreme streamflow in the Dongjiang River Basin in southern China
Papers published in Hydrology and Earth System Sciences Discussions are under open-access review for the journal Hydrology and Earth System Sciences Abstract Extreme hydro-meteorological events have become the focus of more and more studies in the last decade. Due to the complexity of the spatial pattern of changes in precipitation processes, it is still hard to establish a clear view of how pr...
متن کاملImpact of climate change on streamflow in the arid Shiyang River Basin of northwest China
Climate change may significantly affect the hydrological cycle and water resource management, especially in arid and semi-arid regions. In this paper, output from the Providing Regional Climates for Impacts Studies (PRECIS) regional climate model were used in conjunction with the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) to analyse the effects of climate change on streamflow of the Xiying and Zamu ...
